NSW: 13-yo boy rushed to Sydney with hot water burns
A 13-year-old boy is being airlifted to Sydney after he was seriously burnt when boilingwater splashed on 30 per cent of his body during Christmas celebrations in south westernNew South Wales.
The boy's abdomen, back, arms and chest were burnt after he turned on the tap of anelectrical urn at the family home in Orange.
In shock, the boy then accidentally knocked the urn over, drenching the cord and givinghim minor electric shocks.
He was rushed to Orange Base Hospital this morning and he and his mother are now onboardan NRMA Careflight helicopter bound for Westmead Children's Hospital in Sydney.
An NRMA Careflight spokesman says the boy spent the day at the local hospital but isbeing moved to Sydney to receive specialist burns care.
